2021 World Science Scholars Cohort alphabetically organized. I’m in the fifth row in the last column!

I recently got selected out of an international pool of applicants as a 2021 World Science Scholar for my exceptional ability in mathematics.

I started taking a few of the amazing courses offered and wanted to share my orientation and getting started journey as well as more information about the World Science Scholars program.

World Science Scholars was co-founded as an initiative of the World Science Festival by Brian Greene, professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University, and Tracy Day, CEO and four-time National News Emmy award-winning journalist. This program was created to have a community of like-minded young scholars around the world who are excited about using their talents in math and science to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation. The World Science Festival, in general, aims to cultivate and sustain a public that’s informed and inspired by science and is motivated to engage with its applications.

The World Science Scholars program provides other scholars and me with the unprecedented opportunity to engage with great thinkers in the world today to really expand our sense of what we can do with our talents. There are many courses, beginning with the boot camp, starting with basic ideas to lay the groundwork for some of the other material that we are engaging with later on. Throughout the two-year program, I will interact with various online courses, live discussions, and collaborative projects. I will have the unparalleled opportunity to learn about the frontiers of science, comparative medicine, Aristotle’s forms of causation, and computational language by founders and leading world thinkers. I’m particularly interested in learning and interacting with Brian Greene, Barbara Natterson-Horowitz, George Ellis, and Stephen Wolfram.

The 2021 cohort consists of 48 scholars aged 11–17 from 16 countries!! Through this program and with the amazing cohort, I look forward to learning and engaging with contemporary science at the forefront of the unknown!
